Consideraciones éticas de las organizaciones sociales fronterizas en defensa de los migrantes

Consideraciones éticas de las organizaciones sociales fronterizas en defensa de los migrantes Ethical Considerations on the Borderland Social Organizations on Defense of Immigrants The institutionalization of an ideology, neoliberalism, which privileges individual over a community-oriented mentality has created a large socio-economic gap between the global north and south. This phenomenon has contributed to the destruction of the social fabric and therefore to a spiral of violence in the Central American countries, forcing many citizens to emigrate to the north, where they are mostly rejected. In this brief work I will defend the thesis that this ideology of rejection towards the Other can and should be replaced by an ethic of solidarity. To this end, I will first show the historical background that has caused a Central American diaspora, then I will explain the ethical systems of Emmanuel Levinas and Enrique Dussel, and finally I will point out how the social organizations of Casa Anunciación in El Paso Texas and the Casa del migrante in Ciudad Juarez, which are dedicated to the defense and protection of migrants, are a living proof that such ethical systems are not only applicable, but necessary to overcome the humanitarian crisis that is currently being lived on the border between Mexico and the States United.
